Sorry it’s been a few weeks since I posted. I was busy getting married and taking a cruise for my honeymoon. I’m back, and so are the reviews.

Food Quality: 8/10

Food Quantity: 7/10

Cleanliness: 7/10

Atmosphere: 6/10

Service: 6/10

Price: $6 – $10

The food is pretty good here. I really liked the wings. They pile on the sauce, often something costing extra at other wing places for “making them wet”. The fries are really good, and they use sugar on them instead of salt, it’s a tasty change.

While the food is good, I didn’t care much for the service or atmosphere. You order and pickup your food at the counter. The restaurant is very small, only having about a half dozen tables. The food took a while to come out, and the staff didn’t look like they were moving particularly fast behind the counter. They have a couple community rolls of paper towels for napkins. Most people already have sauce on their hands when they realize they need napkins, so the top of the roll is covered with sauce from other patrons hands, which is very unappetizing.

Like I said, the food is good, just don’t bother dining in. It will be much more enjoyable if you take this meal to go.

I’ve been to Josie’s Pizza and Wings dozens of times. The pizza is always great. While I always get the 2 slice lunch special, I would only imagine a fresh pie to be even better. I’ve had their wings a couple times, and while not bad, they’re nothing special either. The wings could use more sauce, and could stand to be a bit larger for the price. The service is great, and it’s never hard to find an open table.

I wasn’t really impressed with the pizza. You don’t have to wait long for it, since it bakes in about 4 minutes in the coal fired ovens, but the pizza wasn’t anything special. It didn’t have a unique flavor that I expected from the coal fired ovens. The wings on the other hand were excellent. They don’t come with any sauce, but they’re seasoned to perfection. They’re topped with a huge pile of grilled onions which were some of the most flavorful onions I’ve ever tasted, and the wings also come with 2 slices of garlic bread.

The service is good, nothing out of the ordinary. The place is clean, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I would recommend skipping the pizza though and going straight for the wings.

Buffalo Wings and Rings serves exactly what their name says the do. They offer burgers and sandwiches, but you don’t have to look any further than their namesake to find some great food. Their wings come in a ton of flavors, and each flavor can be as mild or as spicy as you want it. This is a great way to do things because most places offer you a variety of flavors, but tell you how hot each one is. Buffalo Wings and Rings lets you fully customize your order. Their wings are also soaked in sauce, or “wet”, as most wing places refer to them. This is usually something you have to pay extra for, but not here. Their onion rings are alright. I don’t particularly care for their style of batter, but they come with a great dipping sauce.

The place isn’t very crowded for lunch, so it won’t be too loud. You’ll be able to find a seat without a problem, and you’ll have great service. It’s on the outskirts of Orlando, but a great place to eat if you are in the area, and worth the drive at least once to give them a try.

Buffalo Wild Wings has a large variety of flavors of wings, and has an excellent beer selection, as well as a full bar. Aside from that, there isn’t much else positive to say about the place. Most of the appetizers are sub par, either being very bland, overly salty, or just generally bad. In particular, the nachos should be avoided at all costs. The chips are flavorless and stale, and the salsa is worse than most salsas you can purchase in a store. The wings are rather expensive, starting at around $8 for 12 wings.

The atmosphere at this particular location is often so loud you cannot hear the people at your table talk. It is often overcrowded, to the point where you usually bump into people at nearby tables if you move around at all. The service is some of the worst I have had anywhere on several occasions, and the only reason I continue going is generally because it is a convenient location and something most people can agree upon. If you are looking for a nice place to sit down and have a meal, avoid this location at all costs.

There are numerous wing places in Orlando, and Hurricane Grill and Wings is yet another one. Hurricane Grill and Wings does little to separate itself from the competition. It has an average beer selection, having about 10 beers on tap, and about 16 bottled options. The bottled beers are often just duplicates of those on tap, and the most “craft” beer is Blue Moon. There are 30 flavors of wings to choose from, with something for just about every taste. I chose the Cajun wings, which are a dry rub. The wings are good size, large in comparison to many other places in town, and they come with a side order of fries or homemade kettle cooked chips. The kettle chips didn’t even taste like they were salted, so came across as being very bland.

Since you get a side, and the wings are large, you can get away with ordering fewer wings than you would at other places, and still be satisfied. I would prefer to skip the side and pay less though. When I eat wings, I don’t want to waste any belly room on anything else. All in all, Hurricane Grill and Wings is good, but isn’t great. If I had my choice between them and other wing places in town, I would generally go with someplace else. But, if you want wings, and this is your only option, it will suffice.

Ker’s Wing House is a bar and grill style restaurant with a scantily clad staff. It may sound familiar to another chain, but the main difference is that the food here is good. They have a solid beer selection, which makes a perfect partner for their wings. Their wings come in a variety of flavors, Blackened being my favorite. Their Blackened wings are a nice mix of Cajun spices. You can also get the wings breaded, buffalo style, or naked.

Wing House offers a variety of sides as well, including fries, chili fries, onion rings, jalapeño poppers, and many more. One side they are famous for is their fried pickles, which are a nice is of sweet and tangy. The service at Ker’s is second only to the food. The only complaint that I have about the service, and Wing House in general, is that the staff comes by towards the end of your meal trying to sell you various merchandise including shot glasses, playing cards, calendars, and more. Putting up with this is a small price to pay for a great meal that will not leave you hungry.

Zaxby’s is a fast food restaurant along the same vein of Chick-Fil-A. Everything on the menu is chicken, but it is prepared in a variety of ways and flavors. Zaxby’s has chicken fingers, wings, salads and sandwiches. The wings and fingers are great, and they even have a combination platter. The Wings and Things meal comes with 5 wings, 3 chicken fingers, french fries, and a slice of Texas toast. With a drink, it costs less than $10 and could feed even the hungriest of appetites.

Their wings come in a variety of flavors, nothing particular to Zaxby’s, but tasty none-the-less. Zaxby’s has their own special Zax sauce, which is basically a creamy thousand island dressing. Their french fries are crinkle cut and golden brown. I’m not sure if they are made to order, but I always get a fresh batch. It tastes great and is a perfect compliment to their moist and tender chicken fingers. You get one or two sauce packets with most meals, but have to pay extra if you want more than that. It is the one thing that turns me off about Zaxby’s, as does any place that charges for things like sauce.

Zaxby’s is an excellent place to get a variety of chicken meals, many between $5 to $6. All are tasty, but don’t expect to get a healthy meal here. There are not many locations so it may be difficult to find one close by, but it is worth the drive to eat here.

It has a relatively unique flavor that is a nice change from the average pizza place. It offers a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It has video game systems hooked up to their televisions with wireless controllers so you can play at your table.

American Pie has an affordable lunch menu, including sandwiches, 2 slices of pizza, a variety of calzones, and more. Most of the lunch specials will cost about $8 with a fountain drink. It has a decent selection of beer that is also reasonably priced. Overall, American Pie Pizza Company will leave you satisfied, and won’t put a big dent in your wallet. It’s not the best pizza in town, but it is good, and affordable.

On a side note, American Pie offers a 29″ pizza, and if two people can finish it in 29 minutes or less, it’s free. Two of the bigger guys I worked with attempted it, and only had about 1/8 left, but ran out of time. It’s a lot more pizza than it sounds like it is.
