Wing Stop

Sorry it’s been a few weeks since I posted. I was busy getting married and taking a cruise for my honeymoon. I’m back, and so are the reviews.

  • Food Quality: 8/10
  • Food Quantity: 7/10
  • Cleanliness: 7/10
  • Atmosphere: 6/10
  • Service: 6/10
  • Price: $6 – $10

The food is pretty good here. I really liked the wings. They pile on the sauce, often something costing extra at other wing places for “making them wet”. The fries are really good, and they use sugar on them instead of salt, it’s a tasty change.

While the food is good, I didn’t care much for the service or atmosphere. You order and pickup your food at the counter. The restaurant is very small, only having about a half dozen tables. The food took a while to come out, and the staff didn’t look like they were moving particularly fast behind the counter. They have a couple community rolls of paper towels for napkins. Most people already have sauce on their hands when they realize they need napkins, so the top of the roll is covered with sauce from other patrons hands, which is very unappetizing.

Like I said, the food is good, just don’t bother dining in. It will be much more enjoyable if you take this meal to go.

Josie’s Pizza & Wings

I’ve been to Josie’s Pizza and Wings dozens of times. The pizza is always great. While I always get the 2 slice lunch special, I would only imagine a fresh pie to be even better. I’ve had their wings a couple times, and while not bad, they’re nothing special either. The wings could use more sauce, and could stand to be a bit larger for the price. The service is great, and it’s never hard to find an open table.

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza

  • Food Quality: 8/10
  • Food Quantity: 9/10
  • Cleanliness: 8/10
  • Atmosphere: 8/10
  • Service: 7/10
  • Price: $8-$12

I wasn’t really impressed with the pizza. You don’t have to wait long for it, since it bakes in about 4 minutes in the coal fired ovens, but the pizza wasn’t anything special. It didn’t have a unique flavor that I expected from the coal fired ovens. The wings on the other hand were excellent. They don’t come with any sauce, but they’re seasoned to perfection. They’re topped with a huge pile of grilled onions which were some of the most flavorful onions I’ve ever tasted, and the wings also come with 2 slices of garlic bread.

The service is good, nothing out of the ordinary. The place is clean, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. I would recommend skipping the pizza though and going straight for the wings.

Buffalo Wings and Rings

  • Food Quality: 8/10

  • Price: $6-$10

Buffalo Wings and Rings serves exactly what their name says the do. They offer burgers and sandwiches, but you don’t have to look any further than their namesake to find some great food. Their wings come in a ton of flavors, and each flavor can be as mild or as spicy as you want it. This is a great way to do things because most places offer you a variety of flavors, but tell you how hot each one is. Buffalo Wings and Rings lets you fully customize your order. Their wings are also soaked in sauce, or “wet”, as most wing places refer to them. This is usually something you have to pay extra for, but not here. Their onion rings are alright. I don’t particularly care for their style of batter, but they come with a great dipping sauce.

The place isn’t very crowded for lunch, so it won’t be too loud. You’ll be able to find a seat without a problem, and you’ll have great service. It’s on the outskirts of Orlando, but a great place to eat if you are in the area, and worth the drive at least once to give them a try.

Gift Card Bonuses 2010

Here’s the 2010 round up for restaurants offering bonus gift cards with purchases. If you know of any I missed, leave a comment, and I’ll add it to the list. Keep checking this page for updates as well.

While I do try to include any of the fine print details I can find, you should pay close attention to the deals listed here and elsewhere. Bonus gift cards often are only good between certain dates, have a minimum purchase necessary, or cannot be used with other gift cards.
