Here’s a couple Johnny Rocket’s coupons, one for a free shake with purchase, and the other for a free burger with purchase. They are good through the end of the year.

While shopping this Black Friday, have a drink courtesy of Target with this coupon.
The Cheesy Gordita Crunch has returned to Taco Bell. I had never had it before, so I decided to give it a try. They have a value meal, which is slightly more than the 3 taco value meal, that has 2 Cheesy Gordita Crunch and a drink. I like the thick flour tortilla of the Gorditas, but this is basically a regular size taco wrapped in some extra cheese and a Gordita tortilla. It’s a lot more filler and a lot less substance. It is good, but not worth the price considering its size.
I was invited to What’s Your Beef? in downtown Orlando by the owners, Mike and Lisa Fracasso. They are a new place, they’ve only been open for a couple months, and they have a style new to Orlando. They moved to Orlando about 10 years ago from Chicago, and missed some of the food so much, they opened their own place to make up for it. It’s a nice little place, with bar style seating.
They have a variety of excellent food on their menu. They have Chicago style hot dogs, tamales, a unique style of pizza, and a couple different styles of subs. Their specialty is the Italian beef sub. Italian beef, for those that don’t and I was one of them, is a slow cooked roast beef specially seasoned. They wouldn’t tell me their secret ingredients, but I do know that it has chopped carrots and celery. It is a very juicy sandwich. It has just the right amount of spice to it, giving a little hot sensation, but not sticking with you for too long. They have sausages with peppers and onions, and a combo sub with Italian beef and sausage.
Their meatball sub has homemade meatballs, which are plump and juicy. The sub has plenty of sauce as well, so it isn’t dry at all. The tamales are a platter covered with chili and cheese. They are flavorful with just a little bit of a kick to them. The pizza is only available on Fridays right now. It is made from scratch, and topped with peppers, Italian beef, and sausage. They have spicy and sweet varieties.
The prices are reasonable. Expect to pay between $6-7 for a sandwich and drink. They are very filling though, and the ingredients are tasty and fresh. I definitely recommend them, as they are an excellent and unique taste to the area.
Subway has been offering this “deal” on and off for quite a while now. The issue I have with it is that it is not much of a deal. First, the $5 foot long does not apply to all subs, like some of the specialty subs they offer. Second, for the subs it does apply, it is generally only a savings of $0.60-1.00. While sometimes every penny counts, you are most likely going to get a drink, which will run you about $1.50. Add tax, and you’re looking at a meal that costs around $7, when they make you think $5. Further, Subway subs are on the low end of quality.
Do yourself a favor and skip the Subway $5 foot long. Instead, try Publix, Firehouse, and to a lesser extent, even Quizno’s is a better alternative.
On a final note, Subway recently had a weekend deal for 2 regular foot long subs for $10, telling you to hurry in because this deal is only good this weekend. I guess they think customers cannot do the math that 2 $5 foot longs is the same as 2 foot long subs for $10.
Del Taco is a great Mexican fast food alternative to other places you may frequent. It has a much larger variety of choices, which you can see for yourself on their menu. One of my favorite choices is shredded beef for the tacos. I love shredded beef, but it is usually impossible to find at a fast food place. Del Taco is also very cheap, even cheaper than Taco Bell, and the quality of food is better at Del Taco. If you’re looking for a really cheap meal, look no further than their $0.59 tacos, with ground beef, lettuce, and shredded cheese. They also occasionally “accidentally” make extra food, and offer it to customers for free. It’s a welcomed treat, when many places would just throw it out.
My girlfriend and I went to Buca di Beppo at the Florida Mall this evening. I dropped her off to put our name in, while I parked the car. I meet her outside, and she informs me that they said the wait should be 20-30 minutes. We waited about 50 minutes, along with a few other parties that were also told 20-30 minutes. After the 50 minutes we waited, I went inside to see how much longer the wait would actually be. I let the hostess know the name we were under, and she proceeds to look over the list. We weren’t on the list. I repeat, we weren’t on the list. I watch her write our name at the top of the list and she says we will get the next table available. I walk back out to meet my girlfriend and tell her the news. My girlfriend says she watched the hostess write our name on the list, so somehow it was crossed off. We listened and watched every time the hostess came outside and called a party, and we were never called, and watched other parties go in each and every time. We know we weren’t called.
We are already mad at how long we have had to wait, but since we are going to get the next table, we figure we might as well wait, rather than go somewhere else and have to wait. We wait about 5 more minutes, and watch as another party gets called before us. This was the last straw. I went inside, handed them the menu we had been looking over, and told them to cross our name off the list, all while they were still calling other parties ahead of us.
